This is a Dedication.
A reflection of the moments that I remember and the memories created in my Grandfather’s Dr. Keith Patzer’s practice as a child. They are timeless and will be cherished in my heart forever. They are pure and simple and have helped mold me into the doctor I am today. I look forward to reconnecting with many of you and continuing my family’s traditions.
As a child I remember spending countless hours in the x-ray dark room with my Grandmother I would watch her in silence as she would process the x-rays. I remember she would always count 1,2,3,4,5…and when they were done she would hang them to dry. And on occasion she would hand one to me and ask me to place it in the utility room in front of the fan to dry. I miss those days…Looking back I had no idea what God had in store for me.
I remember sitting at my Grandfathers desk and watching him analyze X-rays. He would sit on his brown stool and draw lines for hours. I would watch…his face would glow as he would lean over his view box with his magnifying glass and his drawing utensils.
I can honestly say that I have never met a man more passionate about his career. He believed with all of his heart and he took great pride in the type of work that we do As Upper Cervical Doctors. He viewed his patients as an extension of our family and he cared deeply for each and every one of you.
I remember when it was time for grandfather to retire. I remember sitting at the dinner table and listening as my family kept telling him over and over…it is time. I will never forget…he sat in silence with his head down… he was not a man to show emotion…But when he finally looked up he had tears in his eyes…And he said “If I retire there is no one to take care of my patients.”…I will never forget that moment. And he never wanted to let any of his patients down.
Looking back I wonder if that was the moment that started my transition. Seven years later I am now a Doctor of Chiropractic, specializing in Upper Cervical care and nutrition.
